Damn! I still got that adress change to sent to them....
I love that magazine btw :)
Been reading it today, I enjoyed reading about the 94 year old Patron of the Vegan Society who has been Vegan for 60 years. :)
I am saving the article about growing Vegan/Organically til later, it will be my bedtime reading tonight. I want to concentrate on the article as it is of particular interest to me and my proposed new lifestyle (should be moving at the end of next month, then once I have bought a property I can get growing!! :) ).
Harumph, not got mine yet :(
Not got mine :( , the pony express may come through later this week and with luck I'll have it then.
Its nice to see that the latest magazine is dedicated to Arthur Ling .
We on the West side of the country must get our copies first! :D
not just the west country, i got mine today too :)
i like the front cover, and the dedication to Arthur Ling, but that's about as far as i've got at the moment ;)

He-He, my husband said he thought the front cover would look nice as wallpaper (vomit!). :p
yes, it is a bit pink!!!!. Not read it yet.
Do you only get the magazine if you're a Vegan Society member?
Ey up, i like the front cover. EFB some wholefoodshops like Beanos in Leeds sell the mag.
I liked reading the article on vegan societies around the world, and how the vegan society here is supporting them in setting up.
The 'Vegan in Iraq' article leapt out at me. Helen Williams and her partner Kevin decided to go to Iraq as human shields and ended up staying to help the street children of Iraq. They managed to eat a very good vegan diet whilst in the country, and provided vegan food for the kids.
You can read about Helen's fantastic and inspirational work Here
I also enjoyed the Laurence Main jubilee walk article and what about that full page advert for Humdinger dairy free chocolate! Yum! :D
;) Will be mailing Feline01 her very own copy ;)
With love from Love.XXX.
Got mine today. Not read it yet! :)
It was sad to read about Serena Coles, Honorary Patron of the Vegan Society, and that the society had lost contact with her, until now that is. She looks so sweet. Top hat there Serena.
Talking of hats, if I had a hat like Serena's on, I'd take it off to Helen Williams for her experience of living in Iraq.
And I have to mention Bronwyn (12) and Aisha (8) and the Vegilantics page, always Briiiiilllllllliiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnntttttt!
It can be ordered online without being a member as far as I'm aware, costing £2.50 per quarterly mag. You may be able to buy it from some other outlets such as health food shops.Quote:

For £21 you could become a member of the society.
yes, evilfluffbunny, you need to join. Its easy enough.
Hello to anyone thats found the forum after it being mentioned in the latest edition of The Vegan. If you've just already joined, welcome, why not post a hello of your own in the chit chat forum, and if you're lurking, lurk no more. ;)
Got my mag today, will read it later, had a quick browse.

'I think the sign of a healthy forum is how often new posts are submitted; by that standard, these forums are among the best. Discussions can become pretty heated, so it's advisable to thicken your skin before venturing in.'
Pish, heated discussions here, never seen one, not never - honest!!!! :D
I'm not from the UK. How do I order this magazine? o.o; I've been getting Vegetarian Times as long as I can remember, I'd love a Vegan only magazine subscription if it doesn't cost too much. ^^
An annual subscription costs £10 (so about $20??) - see here for more information :)
Aye pretty good, liked the gentle dig in the ribs over Morgan Spurlocks re-tox diet, after eating vegan food for a while...Quote:

I read it all the way through, hi-lights also included the Mclibel story, vegan group activity and focus on festivals.
This is the issue with the Typical Vegan cover.
Apparently there is mention of a vegan group in Rochester, Kent. Can someone with a copy have a look for me and post what they find?
I'm unable to find any info from the internet about this group, and won't have chance to get my hands on a copy of Vegan until the weekend.
Hi Rob - found this: Rochester Area Vegans & Vegetarians - Sheila 01634-220027 sheilamccrossan @ hotmail.com hope this is what you were looking for.....:)
Yeah, that sounds like it. Thanks for checking for me.
As I thought, though, she's the local vegan society contact. I contacted her before, and there wasn't much going on at all. :(
I might give her another try - maybe things are picking up.
My copy of the latest vegan mag has just arrived. I haven't had time to look at it thoroughy yet, but there is a lovely pamphlet in tribute to Donald Watson with the magazine.
It's good to see Local Veggie Web and the Contacts Action Team get a mention. :)
Anyone notice the interesting typo in the 'a touch of the exotic...' piece on page 18? :D
A Touch Of The Exotic...
How about giving your partner a present with the personal touch this Valentines Day? Beautifully packaged and handmade to order, Miss Bellaisis's collection of nipple tassels and pasties could liven up any evening. Using luxurious materials such as French double satin ribbons, crepe-backed satins, German glass beads and beautiful vintage trims, these striking accessories come in an extensive range of designs. Worn inside or out, they make elegant accessories for an evening out or a playful evening in.
Panties surely :D
Yes, saw that - makes a change from their usual style of adverts doesn't it?
Pasties, I'm told, are those sparkly things strippers paste strategically on to themselves to cover the naughty bits, but to this British person Cornish pasties* are the first thing that springs to mind :D
* vegan ones naturally!
Well, you live and learn!! I think I still prefer the cornish variety, vegan ones obviously :D
Might look a bit odd though ;)
:d
I really wish they could publish it more often - i love it! I can't find info anywhere for when the next issue is due out though. Can anyone help?!
ohhh wait a minute, I might have seen it in the shop at the vegan society website - is it a green one with soya on the cover??
Yup. That's the latest one.
You should join, then they send it to you :
