    Collection

The collection at this years Fayre will be taken on the door by our stewards and will be split between the Bristol Cancer Help Centre and VegFam. Your generosity is appreciated. There will be two stewards on each of the 3 doors throughout the day and they will be holding the ‘official collection’ buckets.

Any chance of a two dayer sounds dog darn busy mind you even if I don't get to see it all it is far better than going to an event which you whizz around in 10 mins and say "what was that all about".

Fingers crossed for the sun as well, last year was grey and overcast and cold, even though it's indoors being sunny makes all the better.

Who's up for the aftershow party at Rajpoot? Sounds like it'll be great with the vegan soc awards and buffet Indian meal, along with all the other stuff.

Plus you'll get to meet me.

'Yaoh is hosting the Vegan Society's 2005 National awards at the Rajpoot Restaurant, Clifton, Bristol on Saturday 29th October from 8pm to 1am - the same day as the Bristol Vegan Fayre. Tickets are £23.50 available from Yaoh, price includes gourmet vegan Indian buffet and entertainment. Many of the UK's leading vegan people will be attending and everyone is invited. Available from the Yaoh office - phone 0117 9239053.'

About Yaoh – organisers of the Bristol Vegan Fayre

Yaoh is a Bristol - based firm that specialises in vegan organic hemp products – including a full range of hemp bodycare and food. Yaoh products are on sale all over the UK, mainly to be found in independent health stores, and in Bristol you will find them in Wild Oats, Earthbound, Fresh and Wild, Harvest, Health Unlimited and The Better Food Company, as well as online from www.yaoh.co.uk. Recently the company has expanded abroad, and Yaoh products are now on sale in the USA, Ireland, Holland, France,
    Portugal, Taiwan, Japan and Norway.

Yaoh organised the first Bristol Vegan Fayre 2 years ago, at the Watershed, and was also behind the 2004 show at the L Shed, which saw some 5,000 visitors. Yaoh also publishes A Vegan Guide To Bristol, an 80 page free guide to the vegan lifestyle in the area, now in its 3rd edition. The 2006 edition should be available in Feb next year, and plans are already afoot for the 2006 Bristol Vegan Fayre.

Visit the Yaoh website for further information.

    Hey Jay!!

Hi - think I saw you there from your photo - recognised the hair!! even though it's shorter! Sorry, I'm ok when I know people but tend to be very reserved and shy otherwise, so didn't have the nerve to come and speak - just in case it wasn't you..... never mind... another time. Will post a photo in my profile soon..... Have a nice day

    Hi Alisont!

Was very nice to meet you on Friday, and was nice to bump into you at the fayre! It was indeed a great weekend. I felt that the fayre was a great success and had a great atmosphere. The best vegan fayre I've been to so far!!

I speak for myself when I say this: I thoroughly enjoyed the aftershow party! I had a good laff! The food was great.

I was very late getting there on account of having to go from Somerset via Cornwall!! So, didn't arrive until late but it was *great* - spent loads of money, nearly got bitten by a dog - very embarrassing - they normally like me, not this one - don't think that one would ever like ANYone - sorry if human companion is reading this!! Couldn't stay long as had to get back for my dogs. Snaff.... have left you a message a few posts back - don't miss it. Watch my profile for a photo so I can be recognised next year! And... check out 'Brag about your pets' for a photo of my pride and joy (well, one of them!) both coming tomorrow hopefully!

Aye, it was an excellent day out at the Bristol vegan fayre, good stools ( Snaffler), cool music and a decent variety of talks. I checked out the vegfam talk by Howard Friedenstern and they do some great work, and also the Kerry McCarthy talk, our very first vegan MP for Bristol East. I am not a big fan of politicians but might have turned out to give Kerry a Labour (i would have to clench my teeth) vote, she's been vegan for 14 years and knew her stuff. If only there were more MPs like her.....

The attendance at the fayre was very good, and if it had been any busier it would have been difficult to get around and talk with the stall holders. Bought some Cocoa Tree chocolate, Hemp tea, and some Yaoh bars, along with a Sam Smiths lager. Along with all the food i consumed. Including three cakes from the Guinea Pig stall, i'm not sure if they think i'm following them all around from place to place? But they make the BEST cakes, i can't help it!?

The evening meal was cool, good company, and popped into the notorious Fresh and Wild for some more cake today, then onto the AGM and home, phew!

Well done to everyone who put in the effort to make it happen.
