I do use my microwave a lot, as it's a lot cheaper to run than a conventional oven, 3 baked spuds c. 1000w including turntable etc for 12 mins vs an oven that takes 10 mins to heat up and uses 1500w and then cooking for 30 - 45 mins. I don't rely on it but they are awfully useful especially when they're combi pnes that keep the outside crispy etc.
The rest of my food is generally either raw, stir fried (more economical than many other cooking methods including for the most part steaming) or is something like a hotpot or stew that I slow cook overnight on the cheep tarrif.
I also use the micro to freshen cheap bread they practically give away at the end of the day at co-op, makes it pretty much like new and yummy and moist.
Funny, Haniska!
Next thing you know they'll be selling frozen microwaveable hot tea.
Yay! Vegan pot pie!

There is a brand new, just released, Amy's VEGAN pot pie! It is awesome! It works well to cook it using both the microwave (3.5 to 4 minutes just to thaw) and then oven bake at 350F for 15-17 minutes, as it states on the box. This saves a lot of time compared to just baking it yet it wont be soggy as if just nuked. It has whatever herb or spice I associate with pot pies from my youth and I give it a ****/5* rating. Yummers.
No whey, no way.
No honey, honey.

Hmmm... I hadn't considered nutrient degradation. I thought those people who reject microwaves did so because they're paranoid about radiation leakage. Interesting thread.
I'm not a big fan of microwaves, just because they take up a lot of space, and don't seem to do much that a stove and oven won't. And it is difficult to judge how long to cook things for, and I find that they almost always come out tasting worse.
Can be useful for heating stuff up at work, though.
I couldn't help but feel alarmed when I saw Microwave ovens

The two just don't seem to go together!
About microwave ovens............I don't use mine for cooking just for heating things up in a hurry or defrosting stuff.
